Last weekend, one of our fabulous artists, Lucia Funky Punky, stepped up in the most wonderful way and brought her vibrant energy to a very special little one’s birthday party — and what a day it was!
Originally, the birthday girl’s mum had booked our talented Sophia Funky Punky, one of our more experienced face painters. But when Sophia became unexpectedly unavailable, we had a quick switch-around behind the scenes. In came Lucia, brushes in hand, ready to bring smiles and sparkle. And she absolutely delivered!
Lucia is known among the Cher’s Funky Faces team for her warmth, creativity, and colourful style, and this party was the perfect showcase of her flair. From dazzling butterflies to bold superheroes and whimsical animals, Lucia jumped into action and made sure every little guest felt special and transformed.
She was also working alongside our friends at Jumping Janners Bouncy Castles, a fantastic company we regularly collaborate with to bring extra fun to parties. We’re always careful to use paints that are completely safe for use around bouncy castles — no mess, no staining, just colourful fun that keeps everyone (including the castle owners!) happy.
Though Lucia didn’t manage to snap any photos of her fabulous face paints this time (it was one of those non-stop, glitter-fuelled afternoons!), she had an amazing time. The children were beaming, the parents were full of compliments, and most importantly, the birthday girl had the biggest smile of all.
What really touched us was the beautiful message sent afterwards by the party host. She had expected Sophia and was unsure what to expect with a last-minute change. But Lucia blew her away with her professionalism, talent, and kind-hearted nature. So much so that she generously tipped Lucia and took the time to write in with some lovely words of thanks. For our team, feedback like that means the world.
Our artists work incredibly hard to create joyful, magical moments at every event. Whether it’s a big party or a cosy gathering, they pour their hearts into each design, making sure every child walks away feeling like the star of the show. So when someone notices that love and care, they go out of their way to say thank you, it means everything.
Lucia left the party buzzing with happiness. She’s already hoping she’ll be invited back for another round of birthday fun! And she’d love to see any photos parents might have snapped on the day.
