This week, Andrea Funky Punky and Judy Funky Punky returned to the beautiful Theatre Royal in Plymouth to work alongside the Welsh National Opera once again! This time, bringing a touch of magic to a fairy tale and Bear Hunt-themed event for children.
Set up in the charming Gallery Café, with their kits and chairs prepped and glitter at the ready, the duo had just enough time to sprinkle a bit of sparkle on some of the staff before the little ones arrived. From the moment the doors opened, face painting became the must-do activity of the day. “Cues from start to finish!” was the vibe, with children beaming as their imaginations came to life.
Judy Funky Punky was kept busy painting everything from butterflies and mermaids to spiders and, of course, the ever-popular Spiderman. Meanwhile, Andrea Funky Punky embraced the whimsical theme with sparkly crowns and even created her first-ever toadstool design, an instant hit!
“The children loved the painting,” said Andrea. “It’s always so heartwarming to see their faces light up, and when parents join in too, it just lifts the joy even more. Great day at the theatre, lots of sparkles and smiles 💖”
Though this wasn’t their first time at the Theatre Royal with WNO, Andrea and Judy both agreed that the warm, familiar atmosphere made it feel like home. The WNO team were, as always, incredibly welcoming, and the whole day carried that cozy, family feeling Cher’s Funky Faces loves to be a part of.
Here's to more magical days and glittery adventures ahead!
