What an incredible weekend we had at the National Marine Aquarium Event, for a special weekend of fun! Cher Funky Punky and Sophia Funky Punky were creating magical marine face painting smiles.

Armed with our comfy high chairs, brushes, and a fishy-inspired inspiration board, we dove right into creating some amazing ocean-themed face painting designs.

Day One Highlights

Saturday kicked off with a wave of excited little faces ready to be transformed! Jellyfish took the crown as the top favourite of the day — their glowing tentacles made quite the splash. But that’s not all; we painted:

• Stingrays

• Sharks

• Marine fish

• Whales

• Sea horses

• Sea urchins

• Beautiful mermaid crowns

• Pirate hats

And how could we forget Friday, the Green Sea Turtle, who became our accidental model and the star of our inspiration board.

The smiles were infectious, and the children were so polite and friendly — it truly made our day. After a full day of painting, it was home for a well-deserved dinner... and a trusty foam roller for those achy backs!

Day Two Did Not Disappoint

Sunday brought just as much joy — if not more! The setup stayed the same, with the wonderful staff being super accommodating. We jumped straight back into creating more funky ocean faces.

This time, the octopus design became the clear crowd favourite, with those twisty tentacles stealing the show. Cher got creative with some funky lobsters, while Sophia’s Nemo fish designs were absolutely adorable.

Once again, the families and children were a delight — happy, polite, and full of fun energy. It’s days like these that remind us why we love what we do.
