On Sunday 15th June, Cher Funky Punky kicked off her glittery weekend with the loveliest little party for a beautiful birthday girl named Alice, right in Cher’s own stomping ground, Tamerton Foliot!
Alice’s mum had planned the sweetest surprise, not only did Alice get a glitter party with Cher, but she also had a special Birthday Girl Braid! With her gorgeous 24-inch hair (seriously, Rapunzel vibes!), we added one of our signature sparkly hair wraps to make her shine even brighter.
The party was an absolute blast, filled with giggles, glitter, and some epic tunes brought by the Boogie Woogie Disco Company, who brought the party to life! Cher loves a good dance (who doesn’t?), but as some of you might know, she also lives with tinnitus. Normally, she brings her Loop earplugs to help soften loud sounds, but on this day, she forgot them!
Cue the sweetest moment ever, Alice’s dad noticed and came back with a pair of earbuds for her. Honestly, what a legend. It’s the little things that make all the difference, and this dad's kindness didn’t go unnoticed.
Even though it was a whirlwind of a party, Cher managed to snap a quick pic with two of the children before the glitter whirlwind swept her away again. What made her smile was that some of the kids recognised her from Padstow, saying things like, “Hey, you braided my hair last summer!” Moments like that make our hearts full. There’s nothing better than knowing the magic sticks with them.
