This was a new painty experience for both Sophia and me.  Cher's Funky Faces were booked by Plymouth Boat Trips to create painty smiles for their Santa's Christmas Party. It was a very windy and rainy start.  This meant we held on to what we could, painted reasonably well and soon found out if  the legs that were stood wide for balance had been made for the sea?

Earlier in the day Sophia and I met up so we only took one vehicle.  We also made sure to take a couple of travel sickness tablets, just in case.  In hindsight I'm glad I did and I'll take them a bit earlier next time as it took me a little while into the trip before I found my sea legs, lost the green around my gills and found my voice.  I soon began to enjoy the experience instead of just concentrating on getting the children painted. I am also pleased that I never faltered and the show went on without any unwanted breaks! ðŸ¤¢ðŸ¤® Sophia did amazingly well!  Her legs were certainly more sea worthy than mine!  To quote Sophia,

"We survived the choppy waves, my sea legs were strong, and all children left with both eyes and a smile"  Sophia Funky Punky

Plymouth Boat Trips had arranged a huge number of games and sing alongs for the kids to do, Santa showed up with presents and the atmosphere was super fun. All the children looked adorable in their cute Christmas outfits and jumpers with many of the adults joining in to.  The whole event turned out to be a wonderful Christmas boat adventure!

The rain finally stopped and the sun started to poke it's head through the clouds and the queue died down. We finally got the chance to take some photos.  Frances Quick pointed out on looking through them once we'd got home that Santa had even appeared in the clouds ringing his bell!  Sophia and I were super happy, chirpy and had really enjoyed ourselves.  We couldn't stop chatting about the fun experience we'd had on the way home and both agreed we'd definitely do another one should the opportunity arise!

Please don't forget to check out what other events Plymouth Boat Trips offer such as fishing, cruising, wine tastings, pirates and more on the above links - Not just for kids! We had such fun!

Thanks to Ellie, Dave, Phillis and everyone whose names I can't remember (sorry) for creating such a great experience for us and the kids.

Happy Christmas & Prosperous New Year
