This afternoon I met with Tash, Anna and Kaylie Funky Punky for a face to face catch up and some super hero painty practice.  Tash introduced me to the entertainment industry over 13 years ago teaching me how to hair braid.  We have worked together proving hair braiding services at various events across the South and South West ever since.  She is now coming back to face painting after about a 10-year break, Yay!

Kaylie and Anna joined our team during lockdown using the time to learn the basics ready for their first bookings this year.   Both already had a natural creativity and artistic skill.  They have rapidly improved having both received 5* reviews and are now getting personally tagged on social media when mums and dads are looking for face painters.  Kaylie has even made this amazing self contained face paint set up for her party bookings in between being a full time mum to four children.  Just WOW!

It's always so difficult when looking at your own work to see how each practice and each party develops your skills.  We are all so self-critical.  Especially nowadays when there is such easy access to some of the most amazing artists in the world that inspire us.  Sometimes it’s so difficult to recognised your own achievements so today I'm recognising it for them!

These ladies are superb with children.  They make each child feel so special when they sit in the chair.  They create the requested design and that child runs off happy in their imaginary world of Spiderman, Batman, Princess, Paw Patrol, whatever!   That is what makes this job so wonderful. To look around at the end of a party and see all the smiley faces is true happiness.   These ladies create that for others and hopefully themselves!

These ladies are incredible! I'm super proud to have them on our team!  They work hard and practice harder.  I'm very much looking forward to watching their confidence grow as the peak season arrives.

Well done ladies.  Extra special thanks to Kaylie the hostess with the most-ess who let us change her front room into a painty palace for the afternoon.  I'm looking forward to our next fun day already.  Thank you for all your hard work and dedication :)

Here are a few of today’s faces.  Keep practicing you are amazing!
