This summer was an absolute scorcher with the odd monsoon hear and there!  However by the end of August the winds were picking up, a few more days of Cornish mizzle and I could just feel the colder tendrils of autumn creeping in.  The much needed rains feeding the thirst of the land turning the countryside and camel trail into a pallette of greens against the dried burnt oranges and yellows.  On my final walk back to the van I could hear the water slapping on the bank the other side of the hedge, so peaceful.   It might be exhausting working the school holidays with no days off but what an office!

As I say goodbye to another busy Summer season and start preparing for the Autumn Halloween face painty fun I'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to all my new customers as well as my regulars who come and see me year after year in Padstow for your hair braids and face paints.  Reflecting back over the seasons it's really quite an honour to be a small part of your families annual holidays, watching the younglings growing up and hearing what you've been up to.  Some of us even meeting outside of 'The Stein' and growing our friendships.  This year I was even part of these handsome lads birthday celebrations and this wonderful ladies wedding how amazing is that!

There are not many jobs where every customer is a smile.  It's been superb creating them for you, my Funky Punky family.  You are all great!
Once again I must extend my thanks everyone who sent and allowed me to take the pictures for this blog post.  Until we meet again...enjoy and keep smiling :)

Face Paints & Glitter Faces

I really enjoyed getting asked for a few more face paints this year.  Although still predominately braiding it was nice to give the hands a rest and get artistic.  The boys were well into their super heroes with the half faces being a real hit!  I even got a couple of glitter beards, totally awesome!

Unicorns!

It's fair to say my hand made unicorn horns along with the face paint went down a treat!  It was brilliant seeing everyones reactions and the huge smiles on the girls faces when finished. Now that is truly magical!

Hair Braids (Wraps) & Feathers

Hair braids are still the most popular of all the services I offer in Padstow.  This year the lightweight braids were very popular but I think that may be more because of the style looking more 'unicorn horn' like than the fact they are lighter in the hair than a traditional hair wrap :)  The feathers and removable braids also going down well this year especially nearing the end of the holidays.

Liquid Sunshine!

Rain or shine you'll usually find us here in the hols along with the rest of the mad nutters braving the elements!

Who was Cinderella?

We never found out who the male Cinderella of Padstow was but his shoe was well crafted leather that floated most of the morning after what I can only guess was a great night...

Road Trips

And then there were the weekend road trips to other festivals and events.  They say a change is as good as a rest and mentally they are right.  Physically I'm not so sure but then maybe my body isn't quite as young as my mind wants it to be now....

All in all a great Summer.  Thank you!
