What an honour to be booked for such a historic day, The Plymouth Sound National Marine Park declaration of intent signing.  Plymouth Hoe was the stunning location for this momentous celebration.  Plymouth Sound to become the UK’s first ever National Marine Park!

We set the gazebo up the night before which meant it didn’t take long to set our face painting kits up for 10am and Cher’s Funky Faces were ready to go! We had a fabulous view of Plymouth Sound in front of us, Smeaton’s Tower front right and the big stage to the left.  Speakers due on stage included Lewis Pugh the UN Patron of the Ocean and Luke Pollard Labour MP.  There were bouncy castles from the always popular Mr Bounce along with the fantastic music from Joey and the lips. Between them and the salsa drums we couldn’t have asked for a better day to celebrate.

We invited the Plymouth Marine Biological Association and other conservation stalls involved to join in with the painty fun before the mad rush began which resulted in requests for dolphins, sea anemones and colourful fish to name a few.  Not long after we had a massive queue and were non-stop till the end with queues of children and young teens all eager to get their arms and faces painted.  Our most popular requests was for unicorns and Spiderman however, some children did ask for dolphins, mermaids and pirates keeping in with the sea theme for this event.  Sophia's mum came to say hi and was extremely helpful doing a fabulous job of being queue monitor so we could paint everyone waiting and finish on time.

Everyone loved it such a wonderful day! Thank you PL1 Events for booking our team and everyone who came to Plymouth Hoe to join in with the celebrations.  Thank you for choosing Funky Punky / Cher’s Funky Faces.

Forever creating smiles...
