Wow! What a super busy and super fun three days.  Plymouth City Council booked Cher's Funky Faces to help create marine themed smiles for the Marine Park Launch. What a fabulous booking! Friday, Open Day  I was outside for the morning.  The sun was shining and blue skies really made the weekend something special.  In the afternoon I moved inside and stayed there for the rest of the weekend.  What a great venue!

All the parents, staff and children were great I felt truly appreciated on Sunday when many came to say thank you and that they couldn't believe how many kids I’d painted.  Thank you to everyone who came and waited patiently for a face paint.  This was definitely a speed painting event with me averaging a face every 2-3 minutes with the quickest being a 1.53 sec rainbow mermaid that my customer timed, Phew! I think that might be a record!  This meant they were not the best I can create but the kids were happy and that is what’s the most important.  Seeing that smile when they look in the mirror.  Knowing that while they visit the rest of the aquarium they have become a part of it.  Their imagination running wild.

My most popular requests were for Seahorses with the odd 'seahorse-icorn' ha ha , octopus, mermaids of course because they are real, sea turtles and sharks. I also had the odd pirate and jellyfish bobbing around along with one of my personal favs, the sea urchin!

On Sunday one of the managers said the staff would have loved to get painted but they didn't want to take up any queue time.  I made an executive decision and started an hour early for 'staff only' creating even more smiles.  Super chuffed to get the yellow and orange seahorse as my first customer seeing as it was his last day at work before moving to South America.  I just wished I'd got a photo!

I love my job.  I love creating painty smiles.  I loved this weekend!  Thank you for the booking.  I haven't moved of the sofa since I got home but every minute was worth it.  Hopefully I’ll see you all again on the 23rd and 24th July for the big splash! Check it OUT!  Once again thank you to everyone involved in making this event happen.  From the amazing welcome on the door to the people behind the scenes you are all amazing and such a good cause.
