There's Fun Days then there's a Steve Hoskins Construction Fun Day!  WOW!  They certainly did pull out all the stops for this event.  It's the first time I’ve been to the Boconnoc House & Estate grounds.  Just getting to the manor house is beautiful.  Deer, sheep and pheasant underneath the majestic broadleaf trees frame the drive. Just when you think you're nearly due to the obelisk looming in front of you signs direct me to the left.  Not long after the trees start thinning out leaving the valley and manor house below opening out in front of you.  Stunning landscape.  I am gutted I didn't have the time to explore as I sense many a hidden gem in the foliage and grounds await to be seen.

The manor house had a music stage already set up directly in front of the house acting as a centre piece to the day and I assume nights events.  Bouncy castles were being inflated and a cinema marquee were to the left of the house along with a good-sized seating area including some oversized deck chairs!  To the right of the house was the Korev bar, hog roast and various other foody things I believe.  I didn't get the chance to see for sure, but I overheard someone saying about a sweet bar?  There was definitely an ice cream van.  Further back into the grounds was a PGA tournament golf guy on a stand.  Once again, I assume teaching mums, dads and kids how to accurately swing a club...  All of this was including myself doing face paints, festival faces, and glitter tattoos were free for those in attendance.  Steve Hoskin's couldn't have asked for better weather with autumn just around the corner and a cloudy start the sun popped her head out and we were blessed with a beautiful day of hot sunshine.

I was given a wonderful welcome and shown to my pitch.  It wasn’t long after I’d set up that I had my first customer.  She set the ball rolling and I didn’t stop until just after 5:30pm.  Throughout the day the bands kept me going.  Whoever booked them did well in delivering an all-round selection of tunes form all eras and genres. Although tired by the end I part of me was secretly hoping I’d get asked to stay a bit longer as the Irish jig band that were started as I left sounded awesome.

All in all, I had a wonderful day and I think the kids and adults did to.  Especially during the rounders match!  Ha ha did I not mention that?  I’m pretty sure there is a lot more went on than I got to see and hear in my little face painty world but what I did see and here was amazing.  Thank you for such a lovely booking with such lovely people.  I hope I see you all again next year!

Until then here are the few pics I manged to get out of the many faces and tattoos I did today…
