This weekend Paignton Green, Torbay was turned into motorbike and rock metal central for another great year at BMAD festival. BMAD raises a considerable amount of cash for charities close to their hearts throughout the year with BMAD festival, May Bank Holiday weekend being their annual festival event highlighting all the good work they do. It is also a hub for motorcycle enthusiastic around the UK to come and meet up, show off their rides and let their hair down to a variety of bands both on the green and in the local venues.

Funky Punky / Cher's Funky Faces have created smiles at BMAD for 9 years. This year we were pitched in the same place as last year. This was brilliant as our customers pointed out it was so much easier for them to come and find us. Tash and I did a few festival faces on the Friday night after setting up our pitch then tried to get an early night’s sleep.  This wouldn't have been so bad however, late comers arriving at 7:30am to pitch their stall on the Saturday morning made it a tad more challenging. Trying to keep the customer facing smiles when you're absolutely shattered is difficult! However, they were forgiven after a few strong coffee's and we glitter beards were given :)  Ha ha ha. The weather was sunny with bitter wind when the clouds rudely hid the sun.

Sunday, we awoke to beautiful sunshine without the wind. This made an incredible difference to the temperature and kept everyone attending the event in festival spirit. The most requested face paint was the pink unicorn for the girls and spiderman for the boys. The teens and young adults all going for the glitter festival faces and hair feathers with the odd hair braid here and there.

There is always such a great atmosphere at BMAD and I'm inclinded to believe it has a lot to do with the security and BMAD team being up for a laugh and getting involved whilst still getting their respective jobs done. If you see security walking around with glitter beards it's a lot better than a scowl and that, in my opinion, is one of the keys to a sucessful event.

All in all Tash and I had a another great BMAD and look forward to many more in the years ahead. Thank you Kelv, Steph and all the BMAD team for your hard work and inviting us back each year, you are awesome!

Cher & Tash xx
