Big Lemons, Little Lemons, Booming Bass Box!
On arrival we were asked to team up with the Souloud crew brilliant as we love house music. We pitched up to the side of their stage District 12. This worked out well as we were right opposite the main entrance so people could see us immediately as they entered the festival. This was lucky seeing as there was another trader doing exactly the same as us apart from the face painting! Not ideal for such a small event!
The District 12 stage was brilliant delivering superb summer house vibes throughout the weekend. It looked awesome and sounded even better!
Friday evening we did a a few glitter faces and bling but it was very quiet. Much more so than previous years. This may be because of the switch in age group with it being predominately teenagers this year. I reckon a lot of the festival goers only bought Saturday Day tickets instead of weekend camping.
To the otherside of us was the DnB marquee. The sub bass coming out of here was enough to unscrew a picture off the wall in my camper and rattle the dead awake! I was wearing ear plugs all weekend, I think that comment is showing my age now lol.
Saturday I awoke to a migraine which incapacitated me. For the majority of the day I was led in my van wishing I was closer to home. In a twisted kind of way this was lucky with trade being much slower this year. Sophia managed to cover our pitch fee and fuel costs and make a small amount for herself. If the two of us had been working we would have both been out of pocket. By 7ish I was able to move and grab some food and give Sophia a well deserved rest from the stall. Bless you Sophia I couldn't have done it without you. You were a life saver along with the brilliant first aid team thank you! Sophia was super chuffed to have the honour of painting her first ever baby bump!
Having the hopscotch outside went down really well with loads of people giving it a go. The later in the day it got the more difficult it bacame for many of the people there! ha ha ha!
We packed up not long after dark and met a few really fun people. Headed on down to The Hairy Beaver and watched a brilliant transvestite caberet! This was also the first time I have experienced a silent disco. OMG what fun! I think it was as entertaining as the caberet especially without head phones watching everyone and Dj Vs Dj. If you've never been to one its highly recommended. The main stage looked awesome and Slamboree's production was superb! A great band and circus act all in one. Another must see if you haven't already.
Yes we had a fun time and the lads did a great job once again. Whether we return depends on making sure we are the only provider of services offered. This is my own fault as I assumed it would the same as previous years and no agreements were signed prior to the event like I usually do. Lesson learnt. We always enjoy Lemonfest so fingers crossed. Until next year....
Here's the few pics Sophia and I managed to take at Lemonfest 2018.
